Fish Tank

I teach him every Thursday afternoon, he is only 11 years old, very odd little boy. He always moves around the classroom, he cannot concentrate for any longer than 5 minutes and most of the times he ruins my whole lesson. One of the teaching assistants knows him since primary school. “It’s his Birthday soon” she said “will see if he is going to get a fish for his tank this time”, “What do you mean?” I asked her. “Well…few years ago he really wanted a fish tank for his birthday and he was keep on talking about it, he was even drawing pictures of his imaginary fishes. When that day came he woke up in the morning only to find out that his mum had run away without even leaving a birthday card. His dad made it clear to him that he would never see his mum again and that he could not afford to buy a fish tank so instead he got him a pump.” “A pump?” “Yes you know those ones that you put inside the tank…you know, the ones that make bubbles…so his dad promised that for his following birthday he was going to buy him a tank.” “And what happened did he finally got it?” “ Yes his dad finally bought it for him, a nice big tank but he said to him that he had no money for fishes. So who knows...fingers crossed, he might get a goldfish next week”
